Some new reviews of CASTLE OF THE WOLF.
8 July 2007
Tomorrow I'll travel to Dallas for the RWA National conference. I'm already very much looking forward to meeting old and new friends, all the Dorchester authors, and, of course, all the lovely people from Dorchester. If you're going to attend National, too, do stop by my table during the Literacy for Life signing and say hello!
There aren't very many additions this month, just two new (but absolutely thrilling!!!) reviews that came in: on 9 June John Charles reviewed CASTLE in the CHICAGO TRIBUNE and wrote: "In CASTLE OF THE WOLF, Sandra Schwab's nuanced characters, detailed setting and writing seasoned with a soupcon of tart wit blend together to create a magical, fairy-tale, Regency historical romance." The second review came from the Smart Bitches - and they gave CASTLE a B+! Yay! Sarah thought the heroine "freaking brilliant" and found it "bloody hard to put the damn book down." Needless to say, I was over the moon about both reviews.

This months you'll find lots of hot new additions on my site: in the Members Section the first bits and pieces of the Wolfenbach Library have finally gone online. Discover the stories behind the strange cat with literary aspirations, the poem of woodsolitude, or the the theft of the golden cup which might cause the downfall of a nation. The Members Section is open for all subscribers of my newsletter.
But great new stuff is also to be found on the regular pages of my website: I've updated the Reviews Page for CASTLE OF THE WOLF, and added an extra section for blogger reviews: Jane from Dear Author called CASTLE OF THE WOLF "an attractive and unconventional historical read," and Rosario loved both book and heroine: "I had a lovely time reading COTW, and not just because of the yummy setting. Cissy is great. She's such a sensible, determined woman, ready to go after what (and who) she wants." - Be sure to read all the other exciting reviews!
Have you wondered whether I've invented that deck of cards full of delicious surprises in CASTLE OF THE WOLF? I didn't! Go to the Secrets of CASTLE OF THE WOLF to find out more about the little Queen of Spades, about travels on the Rhine and the Castle of Wolfenbach. Further background info about the novel can be found in the various guest blogs I did in the past couple of weeks. You can now follow my online book tour here. I hope you'll have just as much fun reading these blogs as I had writing them!
And last but not least, you'll find links to my interviews on The Mystic Castle and The Historical Romance Club as well as a link to the post on historical research I wrote for Jennifer Ashley's blog on the Articles & Interviews page. Enjoy!

New book, new look! In order to celebrate finishing the first draft of BEWITCHED I decided to get a new haircut. And then, of course, I also needed to get new author pics (you'll find two more of them on About the Author and on the Articles & Interviews page). And because I simply couldn't put the new pics on an old website, I decided it was time for some further renovations -- just in time for the publication of CASTLE OF THE WOLF. So, how do you like the new look of my online home?
But that's not all! For those of you who haven't yet seen the book trailer for CASTLE OF THE WOLF: you can now find it on the Bookshelf. Furthermore, I've begun to add more pages for CASTLE OF THE WOLF:
the first few reviews are up; more will soon follow, especially when all the blogger reviews will go online (please keep your fingers crossed that Mrs. Giggles will like the book -- a little at least!);
the Reading Guide for Readers' Groups is up;
as well as the first few pages of the Secrets of CASTLE OF THE WOLF, namely the Kirchwalden page and the Baden Baden page. As you can see, more secrets are soon to follow, for example, why my hero has once again a strange name, whether the cards are real (or not), and all about the beautiful grandfather clock!
The intro page for the Wolfenbach Library is also already online, however, the actual pages about the different texts referred to in CASTLE aren't yet. You will be able to find those on the Members Pages soon.
And last but not least: I will do a book launch for CASTLE OF THE WOLF, including a reading, on 3 May. Go to Events & Appearances to find out more!
8 March 2007
Welcome back! I hope you all had a good start into the new year! :) - At the moment I'm busy
writing what will become my third published novel, BEWITCHED. I've got to hand in the manuscript by the end of March - and still need to get about a quarter of the book done. (*short moment of panic*) So please keep your fingers crossed for me!
In addition, I'm preparing for the publication of CASTLE OF THE WOLF, which will come to bookstores at the beginning of May. I can already promise you some very exciting additions to this site in April! To give you sneak preview of things to come I've added a Black Forest gallery to the Members Area: there you can find pictures of the landscape of the Black Forest, some pictures of myself from the time my family lived in a small town near Freiburg, as well as pictures of carnival celebrations in southern Germany. Enjoy!
