I am thrilled to announce that I sold two more books to Dorchester. The first of these, CASTLE OF THE WOLF, will be a May 2007 release. It is the story of Cissy Fussell, who finds out after her father's death that she has inherited a castle in the Black Forest. However, there is one little, itty-bitty problem: in order to keep the castle she has to marry Fenris von Wolfenbach, the son of her father's best friend. And Fenris is far from happy about this turn of events either ... To find out more, go to my brandnew CASTLE OF THE WOLF page, or read an excerpt.

The first episode of BETRAYAL is now online! You're cordially invited to join me at Sandy's Podchatter and step back into Regency England and Germany for Georgina's and Ash's story. BETRAYAL is meant as a little thank you for your support during my first year of published authordom. Thank you and enjoy! :O)

It's finally here: my new, re-vamped website! I hope you enjoy the new design. Please let me know if you find any bugs or mistakes.

Apart from the new design, there are also several new pages and a brandnew feature: the Secret Pages -- hidden pages you can only access when you find the hidden links. At the moment there are eight Secret Pages altogether, among them "Fun Facts About Sandra" and several excerpts from the first (unpublished) novel I wrote in English, HIGHLAND LOVE.

Enjoy!

Launching Sandy's Podchatter: Last weekend my podcast went online -- you can either listen to it directly online, download it, or subscribe to it via iTunes, podcatcher, etc. Load the episodes on your iPod or MP3-player and listen to your own private author reading in the bus, in the car, while jogging or while lounging on your sofa! Find out what I've got to say about the writer's life, research, my favourite books and films, and so much more. A little later this year I've got a very special surprise planned for my podcast listeners. Don't miss it!

On 19 May I'll be giving a public reading at Mainz University (7 p.m., Alter Fakultätssaal, Philosophicum). More info on this will follow soon!

5 February 2006

The new year started with several bangs: THE LILY BRAND has been nominated for a RT Reviewers' Choice Award in the category "Best First Historical Romance 2005"; German readers chose THE LILY BRAND as Best 2005 Romance in English; and in the Annual Readers Poll at AAR THE LILY BRAND appears on the shortlists for Most-Hanky Read, Most Tortured Hero, Best Villain and Best Buried Treasure, while my name is listed in the category Best Debut Author. Yay! Votes can still be cast until February 19.

A lovely new review of THE LILY BRAND went online at Historical Romance Writers. I've also added several more reviews not listed before to the Reviews page. When you visit THE LILY BRAND pages, you'll notice that there's a new feature: THE LILY BRAND Miscellany! So far it consists of a story I wrote when working on THE LILY BRAND - back when it was still STRAIGHT TO THE HEART. It was a writing exercise, and it turned out to be a little ... uhm ... postmodern in my case. I hope you'll enjoy it!

The Mystic Castle will hold a Regency Authors Chat at 9:00 p.m. on 21 February. I'm planning to attend, so I hope you'll hop over and join the fun!

~*~

My Winter Contest is still running until the end of the month. If you'd like to get a signed coverflap of THE LILY BRAND as well as an audio CD with some of my old short stories and poems, be sure to enter! Good luck!

"That's all fine and dandy," you might think, "but what about her next novel?" If you're reading my blog, you'll know that THE CASTLE OF WOLFENBACH (aka "The Dratted WIP") is already finished - but hasn't sold yet. I'm very sorry about the delay, yet I hope I'll have some good news soon. If you'd like a sneak preview of the hero, Fenris von Wolfenbach, head over to the archives of my pink blog (scroll down to the post "Free Plotting" at the bottom of the page). Enjoy!
